Saro Spenjian – Owner/Head Coach

Whether it’s from playing sports or being a trainer/coach, I have been Involved in fitness for over 10 years. Once I found CrossFit I found something to challenge myself. Soon after I felt a necessity to have others around me see what that feels like, to show them that they can do things they never thought possible. Giving this reward to people gives them a chance to carry it into their everyday lives, making them strong-er, faster, better, and more confident. People do not realize the potential they have inside them, I feel I can help people achieve In finding that, not only through fitness but themselves as a person. The amount of commitment and dedication our staff at IFA has is unparalleled, all we can say is come in and see for yourselves; our family loves to grow!

Naz Spenjian – Owner/Coach

Whether playing sports or lifting weights, I have worked out for over half of my life. Even though I began mostly for aesthetic reasons, my main focus now is overall physical performance. I have a vast history in law enforcement and have completed three academies. It was not until my last academy that I truly saw the effects of CrossFit on my running ability especially, when I shattered my personal best for a 1.5 mile run. CrossFit breeds functional exercise and lifestyles. Compared to other workout regimens, the dedication, motivation, strength, and versatility of CrossFit is unparalleled. Here at IFA, we take pride in the community and family that we have become. One of the most rewarding feelings for me is when I can help someone, and CrossFit and IFA have both given me the chance to change people’s lives for the better.

Ines Spenjian—Coach/Marketing

I am a 5th grade special education teacher who is always looking for new ways to learn and grow as an educator, coach and individual. By May 2018, I will have my second masters degree in school/building leadership. That being said, I love teaching, encouraging, and motivating people to do things they never thought they could do. I was involved in sports and enjoyed the motivation and encouragement of being on a team and working to push others. A few years ago, I found myself getting bored at the gym before joining CrossFit. I started CrossFit in April of 2013 and immediately knew CrossFit was for me. Through CrossFit, I found my love for olympic weightlifting. I spent 2 years and hours of training to meet my goals. I participated and placed 1st in several competitions and met my qualifying goal for the American Open in 2016. It was the best experience competing and representing Iron Fist Barbell Club. Now that I have been involved with CrossFit for a long time, I want to share my passion and the benefits with others. Many people need that push and encouragement to try something new and stick to a healthy lifestyle. I am also here to help clients with their health goals by providing meal prep consultations and ready made meals (Iron Fist Eats). Remember this quote, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great” (Zig Ziglar). Everyday is a chance to get better and learn. It starts with stepping into IFA and challenging yourself.                         You CAN do it!!

Lannie Wagner – Coach

I have always been an active person, whether was playing sports, going to the gym or spending time outside. Ever since high school, I was your typical guy who would spend 2* hour 5.6 days a week at the gym. Bodybuilding magazines were my regular reading mated. al for me and I always had this extreme interest in trying to learn more about training. About 5 years my training partner at the time had left the gym to go and start Crossfit. Like so many people I sort of blew it off and mocked it and continued to do my regular routine. A year or so later Coach Sam had started with Crossfit and he gave me a workout to try. At the time I thought I was In the best shape of my life, I quickly learned that was not so. From that point on I started doing Crossfit based workouts and I am thankful I did, I quiddy felt better than I ever had. Having always had the desire to learn more about proper form, technique, and programming, I began to become Interested In the coaching side of things. Coaching has turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. Whether it is teaching a beginner the very basics or helping a more advanced athlete get to a PR both haves profound Impact on me as a coach, athlete and a person.

Danny Sullivan (Sully) – Coach

I was in and out of the gym and fitness all my life. I went through periods of intense diet and exercise, and would experience times of complete laziness. I found CrossFit in 2010 through a friend and found my-self excited to go to the gym. The workouts were meaningful and I loved learning and developing new skills, such as Olympic Weightlifting and Gymnastics. I wanted to learn more, so I watched videos, read articles, and finally got my CrossFit Level 1 certification. Since then, I have continued to learn more and attain more certifications. I love helping people realize their potential and improve their quality of life. I am a crossfitter and I know first hand the struggles and successes that come with the training. I’m always excited to meet new people and have fun!

Jocelyn Spenjian – Manager

CrossFit changed my life. I started in May of 2013 when my son, Giovanni, was just 4 weeks old. I have always hated working out and could not stick with a routine, no matter how I tried. I gained weight, and after being pregnant, and I knew I needed to try some-thing different. I was really hesitant during the Fundamentals course and just wasn’t sure if CrossFit would be the workout that was for me. (The barbells can look really intimidating.) Well, I fell in love. Now I come to the box as often as I can, and you can see me smiling a mile away, even during the WOD. Some of my favorite moves are deadlifts and handstand push-ups! I even added running to the end of my workouts. I am still a slow runner, but I get faster every day and that is what keeps me going. CrossFit has helped me feel empowered and strong in my everyday life, and I want to share that with others. Being the manager here at IFA has allowed me to do just that. I love being on the phone talking about CrossFit, and I feel a personal sense of satisfaction when someone new comes in and tries a class. I just know it could change his or her life, too! I have never felt more fit and I love it!
